Westerly winds impacting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The country’s weather is currently influenced by a combination of westerly and local winds. As of Wednesday morning, the hilly areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

This afternoon, partly cloudy skies are expected to continue in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the country will enjoy mostly clear weather.

The Division has indicated a possibility of light rain in one or two locations within the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as light snowfall in select high hilly and Himalayan regions.

A bulletin issued by the Division on Wednesday morning forecasts a partial change in weather conditions tonight for the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Taking this into consideration, the Division has urged the general public adopt precautionary measures as it is likely to partially affect agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering and, road and transport in the places.
