MORANG: An elephant calf was found dead at Belbari-3 of Morang district this morning.

The around four-year-old calf was found dead at the private forest of a local Anita Thapa and Rekha Thapa, said chairperson of Belbari municipaliy-3, Yogendra Prasad Subedi.

A team from Sub-Division Forest Office, Belbari, the Area Police Office, Belbari, and Armed Police Force, Basecamp, Laxmimarg, reached the incident site and started collecting details, shared Acting Chief of Division Forest Office, Hemanta Parajuli.

Reason behind the death of the calf is still unknown.
