Commercial banks earn nearly Rs 56.5 billion in profit over 11 months



KATHMANDU: Over the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, from mid-July 2023 to mid-May 2024, commercial banks have earned nearly Rs 56.5 billion in profit.

Twenty commercial banks collectively made Rs 56.48 billion in profit during this period.

Nabil Bank earned the highest profit, totaling Rs 6.37 billion.

Global IME Bank and Nepal Investment Bank followed with profits of Rs 5.09 billion and Rs 4.38 billion, respectively.

By the end of mid-May, Prime Bank reported a profit of Rs 3.56 billion, and Everest Bank earned Rs 3.31 billion.

Among the banks, Nepal Bank recorded the lowest profit, earning RS 1.08 billion over the 11 months.

Due to high liquidity, the profits of the banks have been decreasing.
