Weather: Rain and thunderstorms expected today



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division states Nepal is currently experiencing the partial effects of local and westerly winds, along with the influence of a low-pressure area formed around Bihar.

Additionally, the monsoon system is affecting eastern Nepal.

Some places in the Koshi Province have been experiencing light rain with thunder and lightning since morning.

The forecast indicates that it will be partly to mostly cloudy in the morning over hilly areas, including Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces, while the rest of the country will have mainly clear weather with partial changes.

In the afternoon, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces.

The rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear conditions.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces, and in a couple of places elsewhere.

Additionally, a storm is likely in a few places in the Terai region of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Koshi, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.
