KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken custody of Pramod Niroula, an Accountant at the Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal, Kathmandu, in connection with embezzled funds.
The CIAA team, dispatched from its central office in Tangal, Kathmandu, apprehended Niroula based on information and complaints alleging his solicitation of bribes from service recipients during the misappropriation of funds.
Niroula has been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe/extortion of Rs. 15,000 from a service recipient.
The undisclosed amount and its source reportedly total Rs. 71,620, including the bribe amount.
