KATHMANDU: Resham Chaudhary, the custodian of Nagarik Unmukti Party has issued a stern warning, indicating impending action against those who refuse to align with the party’s Central Committee decision.

The disagreement arises within the party regarding participation in the new ruling coalition with CPN-UML, a point of contention with party Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha, who also happens to be Resham’s wife.

Party Chairperson Shrestha, serving as the leader of the party’s Parliamentary Party, has instructed party MPs to cast a vote of confidence in favor of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

In contrast, Resham has advocated for abstaining from the vote and has taken a decisive step to distance himself from the party on this matter.

While Ranjita insists on mandatory participation to endorse PM Dahal with a vote of confidence, Resham Chaudhary has made a separate decision.

He has chosen not to partake in the central government activities and aims to negotiate on behalf of the provinces.
