Eight die in jeep mishap in Palpa

PALPA: Eight passengers lost their lives in a jeep accident in Tinau-6, Shikhardanda, Palpa on Tuesday.

According to DSP Subarna Shrestha, eight bodies have been recovered from the accident site.

“Eight bodies have been found at the accident site. We are currently at the scene, assessing the situation,” he said.

The accident occurred around 5 PM on Tuesday when Lu 1 Ja 2371 jeep with passengers was en route to Shikhardanda from Dumre.

Tom Bahadur Pun, Ward Chair of Tinau-6, also reported that eight lost their lives in the accident and 15 more have been rescued and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

He added that 15 injured individuals have been rescued and sent to Lumbini Medical College for treatment.

Details regarding the identities of the deceased and the injured are yet to be disclosed.

The police informed that most of the injured are in critical condition.
