Maoist Center’s first statute convention commences in Kathmandu, discussion among 20 groups



KATHMANDU: The inaugural session of the first statute convention of the ruling CPN-Maoist Center has officially begun in Kathmandu.

Prime Minister and party chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ inaugurated the convention on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung the discussions on the drafts of the proposed statutes will take place among 20 groups.

Each group will consist of 50 to 55 participants of the convention. The resolutions of each group will be presented in their respective conventions, scheduled to be concluded by Wednesday at 1 PM.

The convention, scheduled to run for three days, will finalize the constitution based on suggestions received from the 20 groups.
