KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized that the rights and accomplishments forged during the People’s War are collective assets of the nation.

Conveying a message on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the “People’s War”, he acknowledged the day as a shared celebration for all liberators and change-seeking Nepalis striving for identity, rights, liberation, justice, and freedom.

“As we pay emotional tribute to the great martyrs and honor the missing and wounded warriors on this historic day, let us remember that the People’s War infused courage, valor, and excellence,” he stated.

This transformative revolution embodied the aspirations for political, economic, social, cultural, patriotic, and nationalistic change, according to him.

He reflected on the establishment of a federal democratic republic and the overthrow of the monarchy, achieved through the amalgamation of the people’s movement on the foundation of the ‘People’s War’.

“In fostering high political awareness, Madhesi, Muslims, women, Dalits, tribals, Tharu communities, and other oppressed classes have asserted their identity and rights,” he stated.

The creation and implementation of a socialist-oriented constitution, he said, with an advanced system of social justice stand as a testament to the historical and glorious nature of the People’s War, representing a change of era.
