NPL: Pokhara Avengers defeats Biratnagar Kings in Super Over

KATHMANDU: Pokhara Avengers defeated Biratnagar Kings in a thrilling Super Over in a match under the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Thursday.

Pokhara’s Raymon starred in the Super Over, which decided the match after these two teams played out a draw for the first time.

He faced Biratnagar Kings’ Sandeep Lamichhane, who bowled the Super Over.

Raymon hit Lamichhane for sixes off the first and second balls, followed by a dot ball on the third.

He then scored a four on the fourth ball and added a single on the fifth and sixth balls, bringing Pokhara’s total to 18 runs in the Super Over.

Biratnagar Kings fell short of the target, managing only three runs from the first three balls of their Super Over.

They faced a dot ball on the fourth, added one more run on the fifth ball, and scored another run from a wide delivery on the sixth ball, totaling just five runs.

Pokhara emerged victorious in the Super Over, winning by 13 runs.

Earlier, Biratnagar, who won the toss and elected to bat first, set a target of 140 runs.

They scored 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Pokhara, in response, also scored 139 runs, losing six wickets in their 20 overs.

The match ended in a tie, leading to the exciting Super Over, where Pokhara triumphed for their first victory in the NPL.
