KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to keep former Koshi Province Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Lila Ballav Adhikari, in custody for an additional seven days for further investigation into human trafficking charges.

On Tuesday, the Kathmandu District Court approved an extension of seven days for Adhikari’s detention.

Adhikari was arrested on Sunday in Biratnagar and brought to Kathmandu the same day.

The police presented him before the court upon his arrival in Kathmandu, and the court initially permitted his detention for two days.
