World Cup Asia Qualifier: Nepal playing against Kuwait

KATHMANDU: Nepal is playing against Kuwait (Tuesday) in the ongoing ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup Asia Zone Qualifiers in the UAE.

The match is set to take place at The Seven Stadium in Ajman, starting at 9:30 am local time.

In their first encounter, Nepal triumphed over Kuwait by 108 runs, and they will aim to replicate that success in today’s match.

So far in the qualifiers, Nepal has had a strong performance, defeating Thailand by 67 runs in their opening match and winning against another opponent by 106 runs.

However, they faced a setback in their third match, losing to the host team, UAE, by 13 runs.

Each team in this four-team qualifier will play six matches in a double round-robin format.

The top team at the end of the league will secure a spot in the ICC U-19 World Cup in Malaysia, scheduled for January 18 to February 2, 2025.

The leading team from the Asian qualifiers will join Group D, alongside Australia, Bangladesh, and Scotland.
