KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has emphasized that the government was actively working on rescue operations, relief distribution, and rehabilitation efforts following the recent natural disaster.

“The disaster has caused significant damage to crops and homes. Farmers will receive compensation, and efforts to reconstruct damaged houses will commence soon,” PM Oli stated.

He urged disaster survivors to remain assured of assistance while encouraging others to celebrate the upcoming festival.

The Prime Minister also called for patience from those affected by the disaster, assuring them that the government is fully aware of its responsibilities.

“As the leader of the government, I feel a heightened responsibility to address the needs of those suffering in the aftermath of this disaster. We will provide support to the families of victims, ensure timely reconstruction, and resume transportation services during the festival period. I ask for your patience during this difficult time.”

“I urge everyone, regardless of where they are, to support the government in alleviating the suffering of those who have endured great hardships due to the recent disaster,” PM Oli added.

In a video message on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami 2081, PM Oli extended his best wishes to all Nepalis, both at home and abroad.

He encouraged everyone to contribute to restoring normalcy in the affected areas.

He noted that the traditional tika ceremony during Dashain would not be as joyful this year.

“I am not feeling joyful because the happiness of our Nepali sisters and brothers has been overshadowed by the recent disaster, which has resulted in the tragic loss of lives, including innocent children and the elderly, as well as significant injuries and property damage,” PM Oli remarked.
