Committee should clarify stance on bringing private sector under CIAA jurisdiction: Minister Lekhak

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak, has urged the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee to clearly define its stance on whether the private sector should come under the jurisdiction of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

During today’s meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives, held at Singha Durbar, Minister Lekhak emphasized the importance of further discussion to resolve this issue.

He asserted that a clear principle must be established first. “Once the principle is set, drafting the language will be straightforward,” he said.

Lawmakers have begun discussions in the Committee regarding the potential inclusion of the private sector under the CIAA’s jurisdiction.
