Prachanda emphasizes filling vacant constitutional posts

KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, the Chairman of the Maoist Center, has called for the immediate recommendation of candidates to fill all vacant positions in constitutional bodies.

On Thursday morning, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a meeting with Prachanda and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to discuss preparations for the upcoming Constitutional Council meeting.

During the discussion, Prachanda emphasized the urgency of filling the vacant positions by the following day, according to his Secretariat.

“Prachanda suggested that, if possible, the constitutional bodies should recommend names for all vacancies by tomorrow. If that is not feasible, they should do so as soon as possible after reaching another agreement,” the Secretariat reported.

It is noteworthy that leaders from major opposition parties also serve as members of the Constitutional Council.
