UML Chair Oli submits Prime Ministerial claim with NC’s support

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli, supported by Nepali Congress, submitted his claim for the Prime Ministership.

Oli made this move at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas.

The claim, endorsed by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Oli himself, was submitted to the President’s Office on Friday night.

Both leaders presented their signatures, representing their respective parliamentary parties.

The Nepali Congress holds 88 MPs while UML has 77 MPs in Parliament.

According to Article 76 (2) of the Constitution, Ram Chandra Poudel has set a deadline for Oli to form the new government by Sunday evening.

In response to the President’s call for a new government formation, Oli delivered the signatures of a majority of MPs to the President’s Office.
