Night buses prohibited in areas under ‘Weather Red Advisory’

KATHMANDU: Night buses have been prohibited in areas under the ‘Weather Red Advisory’ issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

This decision was made during a meeting at the Home Ministry involving security and other concerned authorities.

According to this decision, night buses will not be allowed to operate in regions where a ‘Weather Red Advisory’ is in effect.

Speaking at the parliament meeting on Friday, Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane urged the general public to secure tickets before traveling.

He also stated that the meeting decided to monitor whether passengers are traveling with valid tickets.

This decision comes after a bus of Ganapati Deluxe, carrying 41 passengers to Gaur of Rautahat from Kathmandu, and another bus with 24 passengers heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj, fell into the Trishuli River after being swept away by a landslide on Friday morning.
