Divers fail to locate buses that fell into Trishuli river

KATHMANDU: Authorities have so far been unable to locate two buses that fell into the Trishuli River on Friday morning.

The buses were swept into the river by a landslide at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29.

Despite extensive search efforts, the authorities have not been able to determine the whereabouts of the buses or their passengers.

Divers and other security personnel, including teams from the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force, have been mobilized for the search and rescue operation.

However, they are facing significant challenges due to the river’s strong currents.

Having failed to trace the buses, the authorities are currently seeking new ideas and methods for the search and rescue operation.

More than 200 security personnel are involved in the incident area.

One of the buses, Ganapati Deluxe, was traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur of Rautahat with 41 passengers.

The other bus, heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj, had 24 passengers on board.

Both buses were swept away by the landslide and fell into the Trishuli River.
