KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has decided not to join the new government. Leader Metmani Chaudhary informed that the party would support the government based on its merits and demerits.

Despite not joining the government, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has directed its lawmakers to vote in favor of the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

M Dahal is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence in the parliament today.

This vote comes after the government lost its majority due to the withdrawal of support from several parties, including the CPN (UML) and the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) holds 10 seats in the House of Representatives.
