The incident occurred around 3:30 AM in Simaltal along the Narayangadh-Muglin road.

Prem Sah Kanu, the booking in-charge at the Angel Deluxe Birgunj counter, confirmed that the bus was en route from Birgunj to Kathmandu when it was caught in the landslide.

The bus, registered as Pra 3 006 Kha 1516, had a total of 24 passengers onboard, including 9 from Rangpur in Parsa and 12 from Birgunj bus park, along with 1 driver and 2 co-drivers.

“We booked the vehicle and sent it from Birgunj to Kathmandu at 8 PM yesterday. This morning, at 4 AM, we were informed about the accident,” Kanu stated.

“We are trying to reach everyone in the bus, including the driver. Their phones are ringing, but no one is answering. We are deeply saddened by this incident.”

Kanu mentioned that the bus driver and some passengers were locals, with the driver residing in Birgunj.
