Landslide claims 10 lives in Kaski, including 7 from the same family



KASKI: Ten people, including seven members of the same family, lost their lives in Kaski due to a landslide, police said.

The house of Kul Bahadur Pariyar in Purunchaur Thanti, Pokhara Metropolitan City-19, was swept away by a landslide last night, resulting in the immediate deaths of seven individuals.

The deceased are identified as Kul Bahadur Pariyar, Mankumari Pariyar, Laxmi Pariyar, Prashana Pariyar, Prabhav Pariyar, Amit Pariyar, and Radhika Pariyar.

Two other family members were rescued from the rubble and are currently receiving treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital, according to the Kaski Police.

Additionally, three more individuals lost their lives in separate landslide incidents: two in Pokhara-32 Chainpur and one in Madi-11.

Meanwhile, in Chainpur Bahrabise of Pokhara-32, a young girl, Anita Ojha, aged 18, lost her life when a landslide buried her house.

Another 25-year-old youth is reported missing following the incident.
