Landslide claims two lives as house swept away in Myagdi

MYAGDI: A landslide in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-7 of Myagdi swept away a house, resulting in the deaths of two people, Tulprasad Neupane and his wife Balkumari Neupane.

The Takam Police Station confirmed the incident stating that the couple lost their lives inside their home.

Local representatives, police, and residents collaborated in the rescue efforts amidst ongoing heavy rainfall, which has caused the water levels to rise in Myagdi, Rahughat, and Kaligandaki rivers.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued an alert as the water level in the Myagdi river has surpassed the danger mark and continues to rise, urging residents in coastal areas to remain vigilant.
