TANAHU: Heavy rainfall since Thursday night triggered landslides along various sections of the Prithvi Highway in Damauli-Tanahun, causing significant disruptions.

The highway, a crucial link between regions, was initially obstructed by landslides at multiple points this morning, including Bandipur Rural Municipality-5 Yampa, Byas Municipality-12 Ghansikuwa, and Myagde Rural Municipality-6.

Efforts to clear the highway were hindered by subsequent landslides and fallen trees, complicating the situation.

District authorities, along with support from the construction company of the Muglin-Pokhara road (eastern section), are actively engaged in clearance operations.

Despite efforts to mitigate the obstructions, challenges persist as heavy machinery used for clearance operations were themselves buried under debris in some areas.
