Fire in Kuwait: No Nepali casualties, says Embassy

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has said that there has been no report of Nepalis’ death in the Kuwait fire.

A fire in a residential building for workers in Kuwait resulted in the death of at least 41 people.

International news agencies have not yet disclosed the nationalities of the deceased.

However, Indian media reports suggest that 40 of the victims were Indian workers.

It has been reported that Nepali workers also resided in the building.

The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has stated that there are no confirmed reports of Nepali casualties in the fire.

“The embassy team reached the incident site. There is no confirmation of Nepali casualties,” the Nepali Embassy said, added, “We have preliminary information that five Nepalis were residing in the building.”
