KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed another charge-sheet against the former executive director and other former employees of the Security Printing Centre on corruption charges.

On Sunday, the anti-graft body lodged another case against former directors Bikal Poudel and Safal Shrestha, along with Navin Kumar Pokharel, an employee at the Ministry of Forest and Environment, for their alleged involvement in misappropriation in the procurement of security printing press-related machinery items.

According to CIAA Spokesperson Narahari Ghimire, they are accused of intending to cause a loss to the government by embezzling funds worth over Rs 470 million through the procurement process for the security printing press.

The CIAA has demanded additional punishment for the accused proportional to the amount to be recovered from them.

Similarly, the spokesperson added that an equal amount of recovery has been sought from former accountant Khadga Bahadur Thapa and former section officer Hari Ballav Ghimire of the Centre.

In addition, the CIAA has filed a case against Akbar Husain, CEO of Max International, seeking compensation equivalent to the alleged amount involved in the scam.
