PM Dahal holds discussions with President Poudel following meeting with Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with President Ram Chandra Poudel on Sunday, following a discussion with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the party’s chief whip, Ramesh Lekhak.

Amidst parliamentary obstruction by opposition parties, the meeting between PM Dahal and President Poudel focused on addressing contemporary political issues in the country, as confirmed by the President’s Secretariat.

The obstruction in parliament, led by Nepali Congress and other political parties, revolves around the demand for a probe committee to investigate the cooperative fraud case, suspecting the involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

Consequently, the budget session of parliament has faced disruptions.

Despite the ongoing obstruction, Nepali Congress has indicated a willingness to allow President Poudel to deliver the government’s policies and programs during the parliament meeting, scheduled for May 14.

As political discussions continue amidst the parliamentary impasse, stakeholders are working towards finding a resolution to the current political deadlock and ensuring the smooth functioning of governmental proceedings.
