Four juveniles arrested in Battisputali murder case

KATHMANDU: All four individuals arrested in connection with the murder that occurred last night in Battisputali have been identified as minors.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, the incident involved a scuffle between two gangs at Kumari Tole in Kathmandu metropolis-9, resulting in the death of Shambhu Dhimal, 24, from Morang.

Preliminary investigations suggest that all four accused in the case are juveniles, although their identities have not been disclosed.

DSP Adhikari explained that the altercation began when Dhimal and one of the accused collided while walking at night, escalating into a physical confrontation that led to Dhimal’s death.

The gang allegedly attacked Dhimal with a knife, and despite being rushed to Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In addition to Dhimal’s tragic demise, his friend Manish Chaudhary, 23, sustained injuries in the incident.

Dhimal’s body has been transferred to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Authorities continue their investigation into the matter to ascertain further details and bring justice to the victim’s family.
