Nepal’s winning start in ACC Premier Cup



KATHMANDU: Nepal has made a victorious start in the ACC Premier Cup undergoing in Malaysia.

Nepal began their campaign by defeating Malaysia by five wickets in the first match.

Chasing Malaysia’s target of 144 runs, Nepal achieved the target in 19.2 overs with the loss of five wickets.

For Nepal, Aasif Sheikh scored 32, captain Rohit Paudel contributed 28, Kushal Bhurtel made 24, Gulshan Jha scored an unbeaten 19, and Sandeep Jora added an unbeaten 12 runs.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Malaysia batted first and scored 143 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs.

For Malaysia, captain Birandeep Singh scored the highest with 68 runs, while Sharvin Muniyandi contributed 41 runs.

Additionally, Mohammad Amir scored 16 runs.

Nepalese bowler Dipendra Singh Airee took two wickets, while Abinash Bohora took one wicket.

Following this victory, Nepal has earned 2 points in Group A. Nepal will now play their second match against Qatar on Saturday.
