Court sentences rape convict to 18 years in jail in Tanahu



DAMAULI: In a significant ruling, the Tanahu District Court has sentenced the defendant, Bishal BK of Myagde-7, Tanahu, to 18 years in prison in a rape case.

The verdict was announced by Judge Kamalraj Bista on Sunday.

In addition to the lengthy prison term, the court has imposed a fine of one hundred thousand rupees on the convicted individual.

The victim, under the altered name of Bahadur for the fiscal year 2078-79, had filed a complaint against BK.

The police had registered the case against the defendant on January 26, 2022.
