Eight arrested on drug trafficking allegations



KATHMANDU: The police have apprehended eight individuals with illegal drugs from various locations across the country.

The police detained 28-year-old Sandesh Pathak in Chandragiri-2 on Friday morning seizing approximately 20 grams of illicit substances resembling heroin.

The arrest was made following an investigation by the Narcotics Control Bureau branch in Nagdhunga, which tracked the bus from Kankadbhitta to Kathmandu and recovered heroin from Pathak.

Similarly, the police apprehended Mohan Rajbansi-46, and his wife Dilkumari Rajbansi-36 with illicit drugs resembling heroin, weighing 10.4 grams in Mechinagar-6, Jhapa.

Likewise, the police arrested Sanjay Chaudhary, 30, from Dhulabari and Harish Chaudhary, 29, from Gauriganga-8 Dhanausha, with brown sugar weighing 170 milligrams.

Furthermore, in Pokhara-13, Sangamtol, Kaski, the police arrested 23-year-old Sagar Pariyar with illicit drugs, including 61 milligrams of a substance resembling heroin, 2.865 kilograms of marijuana, 6 ampules of diazepam, 5 ampules of diazepam, and cash amounting to NPR 6,115.

In the same way, Morang police nabbed 28-year-old Ashok Karki with 61 miligram brown sugar like substance from Biratnagar-15 and the Nawalparasi police arrested Ravi Som Magar, 28, from Koltandi of Madhyabindu Municipality-14, with 370 milligrams of brown sugar.

All the arrested individuals, along with the seized illegal substances, were apprehended during routine inspections by the police.
