President Paudel urges top leaders to collaborate on contemporary issues

According to Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel, during a meeting at Sheetal Niwas today with Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli, and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the President emphasized the need for collaborative efforts in implementing federalism, improving governance, and reforming universities.
All border issues besides Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, and Susta resolved: Foreign Minister Saud
Minister of Foreign Affairs, NP Saud, has said the only existing border problems lie in Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, and Susta. Speaking at a press conference in Dadeldhura today, Minister Saud disclosed that substantial agreements have been achieved regarding other border regions, and the Joint Boundary Working Group, comprising representatives from both nations — Nepal and India — is engaged in resolving the lingering disputes.

Revenue surge: Over 55 billion collected in four days, marks remarkable 16% growth
Nepal’s revenue collection has surged, reaching a remarkable 55 billion in the past four days, showcasing an impressive 16% average growth rate. This surge is primarily attributed to the expanding tax base. The current fiscal year has witnessed a significant uptick, with the revenue growth rate surpassing 16%. Notably, this comes after a continuous 16-month downward trend in revenue collection until mid-August, with a positive shift observed since mid-September.
NSP calls meeting of Central Executive Committee to amend party statute
Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) has announced the convening of “crucial” meetings to address amendments and approvals to its statute. Party’s General Secretary Ramesh Prasad Yadav said that the central executive meeting is scheduled for February 2, while the Central Committee meeting is set to take place on February 3.
FAO Director-General pays courtesy call on President Paudel
A delegation led by Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations, Dr Qu Dongyu, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel. Melamchi water to reach Kathmandu starting January 15
The eagerly anticipated water from the Melamchi Drinking Water Project is set to be supplied regularly to Kathmandu from January 15. The supply had faced disruptions due to flood damages in 2021. Following necessary repairs in the affected area, the scheduled transfer of Melamchi water to Kathmandu has commenced from Wednesday evening.
