RPP’s candidate Thapa withdraws from National Assembly election in Lumbini Province

KATHMANDU: Niranjan Kumar Thapa, who was set to represent the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) as a candidate for the National Assembly (NA) from Lumbini Province, has officially withdrawn his candidacy.

Today marked the deadline set by the Election Commission for candidates to withdraw from the electoral race.

Thapa, previously a candidate from the “others” cluster in Lumbini, has decided to step down.

Following Thapa’s withdrawal, the competition for the National Assembly seats in Lumbini Province now includes three candidates from the female cluster and three from the “others” cluster.

The National Assembly election in Lumbini Province is scheduled to take place on January 25.
