KATHMANDU: In response to a directive from the Council of Ministers, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to reconnect power supply lines to industries with outstanding dues.

In a meeting held earlier this morning, the Authority made the decision to reinstate electricity supply to industries whose connections were previously severed due to non-payment after utilizing power from dedicated feeder and trunk lines.

The government has taken additional steps by establishing a high-level commission to expeditiously address disputes related to dedicated power feeders and trunk lines allocated to industries.

Emphasizing continuity, the NEA asserts that power supply to these industries will remain uninterrupted until the commission completes its investigation and the government makes decisions based on its findings.

NEA reports indicate that 61 industries still have outstanding dues, with 24 of them experiencing power cuts in recent weeks due to non-payment.
