KATHMANDU: In the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Wednesday, Kathmandu Gurkhas clinched an 18-run win against Lumbini Lions, who struggled with poor bowling.

Chasing a modest target of 104 runs after losing the toss, Lumbini collapsed to 85 all out in 10.2 overs.

Kathmandu’s bowler Dipesh proved pivotal in dismantling Lumbini’s top order. He dismissed both openers, Ashutosh Ghiriya and Arjun Saud, preventing them from reaching double digits.

Dipesh struck in his second ball of the third over, removing Ashutosh for just 4 runs off 12 balls, and claimed Arjun’s wicket on the last ball of the same over, who scored only 3 runs off 10 deliveries.

Lumbini’s captain, Rohit, also fell victim to Dipesh’s bowling, scoring just 8 runs off 15 balls before being trapped leg before wicket (LBW).

Lumbini’s middle order, including Tom Moores and Vivek Yadav, failed to make an impact, while Saad Bin Zafar, Ramon Simmonds, and Abhinash Gautam were dismissed without opening their accounts.
