Deputy Speaker calls for ensuring rights of children with disabilities



KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar has called for guaranteeing the rights of children with disabilities.

In her address to a dialogue organised by the National Child Rights Council here today, the Deputy Speaker echoed the need of drafting laws required to address the rights of children with disabilities.

She also wanted the local level to draft laws which are inclusive and capable of meeting the needs of such children.

She further pressed the need to produce dedicated workforce to assist children with disabilities for teaching learning activities and to take care of them.

Council Chair Bam Bahadur Baniya said the policy aiming to address concerns of people with disabilities is yet to be implemented
