Child dies, four injured in auto-rickshaw accident

RUKUM WEST: A child has died and four others were injured in an auto accident that occurred last night in Pakha village of Sisne Rural Municipality-6, Rukum West.

The deceased was a 12-year-old girl, Vishnu Budhamagar, from Khopichar, Sisne-6.

The auto-rickshaw, with the number plate Lumbini Province 02001 Ha 0350, was traveling from Pakha village toward Rukum along the Mid-Hill Highway when the accident took place.

According to Him Bahadur KC, an Information Officer at the District Police Office, the injured are 16-year-old Mahendra Budhamagar of Sisne-6; 14-year-old Sushila Budhamagar of the same ward; 11-year-old Sushmita Budhamagar; and 40-year-old driver Top Bahadur of Sisne-5.

KC further reported that Mahendra Budhamagar, who sustained severe injuries, has been transferred to Nepalgunj for further treatment.

The other three injured individuals are currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at Rukum District Hospital.

The auto-rickshaw reportedly lost control and plunged 50 meters off the road.
