KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the Lumbini provincial government to focus on boosting production and employment, alongside infrastructure development.

During a discussion held today at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar with Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya, PM Oli emphasized the need to expand the market through agricultural industrialization by planting advanced crop varieties on suitable soil.

“There is no immediate increase in production by simply spending on the construction of physical structures such as buildings and offices. We have fertile lands, water, and a suitable climate. There are many opportunities to increase production and employment through hard work,” said Prime Minister Oli.

He also encouraged the involvement of political party organizations and workers in these efforts, stressing the importance of collective action to solve the problems faced by citizens.

The Prime Minister also called for stricter measures to prevent the export and import of impure and contaminated foods and vegetables, emphasizing that healthy food is essential for the health of the people.

Addressing the current political situation, Prime Minister Oli noted that the existing government was formed due to the country’s unique circumstances and is working on identifying and solving common problems.

He acknowledged the government’s current deficit budget and urged all stakeholders to work towards ending this situation.

He also called for a focus on consensus, cooperation, and delivering results for the people, without engaging in disputes over participation in the government.

Chief Minister Acharya expressed the need for federal government support in managing the budget and developing infrastructure, particularly in the context of relocating the provincial capital from Rupandehi to Dang.

The discussion was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, and other officials.
