President Paudel urges Indian Foreign Secretary to collaborate on climate change mitigation



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri today during his official visit to Kathmandu, which was initiated at the invitation of Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.

The meeting, held at Sita Niwas, focused on enhancing bilateral relations, support, and welfare between the two nations, according to the Office of the President.

During the discussion, President Paudel emphasized the importance of cooperation between Nepal and India in addressing the impacts of climate change.

He highlighted the deep-rooted civilizational and cultural ties shared by the two countries and expressed confidence that bilateral relations would be further strengthened during Secretary Misri’s tenure.

In response, Secretary Misri pledged to work closely with Nepal to mitigate the effects of climate change in both countries.

He also reiterated India’s willingness to collaborate with Nepal in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, and tourism.
