KATHMANDU: India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who is on a two-day official visit to Nepal, and Maniram Gelal, Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development of Nepal jointly inaugurated the new building of Nepal Bhasha Parishad in Kathmandu, built under India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant.

Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for an official visit, following an invitation from Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.

The visit highlights India’s commitment to its relationship with Nepal, a key element of its Neighborhood First policy, as noted by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

The Indian government’s support for major infrastructure and connectivity projects in Nepal exemplifies this growing partnership, the Embassy stated.

During the visit, discussions are expected to center on advancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation, building on recent high-level exchanges.
