Indian Foreign Secretary Misri arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived in Kathmandu today for an official visit, following an invitation from Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal.

The visit highlights India’s commitment to its relationship with Nepal, a key element of its Neighborhood First policy, as noted by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.

The two countries share deep-rooted civilizational and cultural ties, which have been strengthened in recent years through increased bilateral cooperation.

The Indian government’s support for major infrastructure and connectivity projects in Nepal exemplifies this growing partnership, the Embassy stated.

During the visit, discussions are expected to center on advancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation, building on recent high-level exchanges.

This visit is anticipated to further solidify the close and multifaceted relationship between the neighboring nations, according to the Indian Embassy.
