Ashok Rai-led JSP issues whip to vote against PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), led by Ashok Rai, has issued a whip to its lawmakers, instructing them to vote against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s confidence motion scheduled for Friday.

According to JSP Chairman Ashok Rai, the party supports the new alliance between the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress.

Earlier, both the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress also issued similar whips, directing their lawmakers to vote against PM Dahal.

The two largest parties in the federal parliament, the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, have forged an alliance to oust the Dahal-led government and form new governments at both the federal and provincial levels.
