Over 55,000 tourists visit Khumbu region in 11 months

SOLUKHUMBU: A total of 55,979 tourists visited the Khumbu region in the past 11 months of the current fiscal year, according to the Sagarmatha National Park.

Information Officer Manoj Kumar Mandal stated that most of the tourists were foreign, numbering 48,402, while domestic tourists totaled 7,577.

Tourist visits peaked in Baisakh, the prime tourist season, and were lowest in Shrawan due to adverse weather conditions, Mandal added.

During this period, the Park collected Rs 136 million in revenue.

Entry fees are Rs 100 for Nepali citizens, Rs 1,500 for visitors from SAARC countries, and Rs 3,000 for other international tourists.
