JSP Nepal’s National Convention: Chairman Yadav’s political report approved with suggestions

KATHMANDU: The political report presented by Upendra Yadav, Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN), has been unanimously approved with some suggestions.

Yadav has committed to revising the 31-page report to incorporate the feedback received during the closed session of the ongoing convention in Janakpur.

Following the presentation of the political report by Chairman Yadav, group discussions commenced as part of the convention’s closed session.

Delegates were divided into ten groups to discuss the report.

Similarly, the income-expenditure report presented by former minister Vijay Yadav and the audit report by the party’s Audit Commission Chief, Amaresh Narayan Singh, were also unanimously approved.

Key suggestions on Yadav’s political report:

The party should adopt concrete policies and initiatives to prevent desertification in the Terai-Madhes region.

The term “identity” should be included in the party’s slogan.

Madhes Province should be identified as the party’s main base, and the organizational campaign should be intensified nationwide.

The Janamat Party, which has been attacking and criticizing JSPN, should be identified as the main adversary.

The party should strengthen itself by uniting with ideologically aligned democratic and liberal parties, such as Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.

The policy of moving towards a directly elected executive presidential system should be approved.

The policy of ensuring 33% women’s participation, as mandated by the constitution and party statute, should be implemented in all party bodies.

The party should have a clear stance on foreign relations, especially with neighboring India, and introduce a policy to improve these relations.

An agitation should be announced for the creation of identity-based provinces in Eastern Nepal and the abolition of the name ‘Koshi.’
