Nepal receives nearly Rs 1200 billion in remittances in 10 months



KATHMANDU: The government has recorded approximately Rs 1,200 billion in remittances over the last 10 months of the current fiscal year.

The remittance inflow increased by 19.02 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Data released on Monday by the Nepal Rastra Bank indicated that the country received Rs 1198 billion in remittances by the end of the Baisakh month.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, the remittance inflow had increased by 23.4 percent.

During the review period, 374 thousand labor permits (institutional and individual) for foreign employment were issued, while 237 thousand people sought labor permits for the second time.
