KATHMANDU: Narayan Dahal, a lawmaker from the Maoist Centre and representative of the ruling coalition, underscored that his nomination to the National Assembly Chairman is a result of his extensive contributions and responsibilities within the party.

Addressing media queries, Dahal stated, “Throughout my journey within the party, even during my tenure as the Province Joint In-charge, allegations were often made linking my appointments to my familial ties with party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. This is not a new accusation.”

Dahal was responding to insinuations that his candidacy was influenced by his close family relationship with party Chair Prachanda.

He clarified that these assertions overlook his active involvement and significant contributions to the party since the year 2036 BS.

“People who are unaware of my dedicated participation and contributions to the party have consistently raised such allegations against me,” Dahal expressed.

He emphasized that it would be unjust to repeatedly question his candidacy without recognizing his substantial role and contributions over the years.

“I have been entrusted with this responsibility in line with my contributions. The unanimous decision of the entire party to nominate me for the NA Chair should not be misconstrued as inappropriate,” added Dahal.
