Maoist Center demotes 50 leaders for neglecting party responsibilities



KATHMANDU: The central committee meeting of the ruling CPN-Maoist Center has taken disciplinary action against 50 leaders, demoting them due to their failure to adhere to the party’s directives and lack of commitment to party activities.

According to Maoist Center sources, the decision for disciplinary action was made during the party’s central committee meeting held in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Harka Bahadur Nembang, the Maoist Center’s provincial chairman, revealed that the disciplinary measures were taken against 50 individuals who did not actively participate in the transformation campaign in Koshi province.

He also highlighted that the party underwent a renewal process with the enrollment of 75,000 new members.

Chakrapani Khanal, in-charge of Koshi province, shared that the renaming of Koshi province has caused some issues within the party organization, as discussed during the briefing at the central committee meeting on Sunday.

In the meeting, he provided a report from Koshi province and explained that the renaming had led to challenges within the party organization.
