WFD signals changes in weather patterns

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division (WFD) has alerted residents to an ongoing partial influence of western winds in Nepal, signaling forthcoming changes in weather patterns.

Currently, most provinces in the country experience clear skies, while hilly areas witness a partial shift.

Foggy conditions prevail in certain parts of the Terai region.

This afternoon, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are expected to have predominantly clear weather in hilly areas, with the rest of the region experiencing partly cloudy conditions.

The Weather Forecast Division has highlighted the potential for light snowfall in select high hills and Himalayan areas within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Given the projected light snowfall in these regions, the Division has urged residents to take necessary precautions, emphasizing that it may impact daily life, health, transportation, and air services.

It has also urged people to take proactive measures to mitigate any potential adverse effects.
