Rabi Lamichhane presented in Kaski Court for fourth time

POKHARA: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been presented before the Kaski District Court today after being in police custody since October 18.

This appearance comes after a third extension of his detention expired on Saturday.

Meanwhile, RSP sources report that supporters and party leaders have continued their demonstration at Pokhara’s Zero Kilometer (Ghanti Ghar) while Lamichhane is in court.

The party stated that Lamichhane is using his time in detention to conduct research and write.

Lamichhane’s lawyers are advocating for his release during the ongoing investigation, while government attorneys argue that he should remain in custody.

Concerns have arisen that he may be transferred to Rupandehi following the deadline, as an arrest warrant has been issued related to the embezzlement case involving the Supreme Cooperative Savings in Butwal. However, police have not commented on this possibility.
