Illegally constructed structures to be demolished in Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR: Structures built by encroaching on the Kaluwapur-Belauri road in Shuklaphanta Municipality-11 are set to be demolished.

The local government plans to remove physical structures within a 15-meter radius on both sides of the road.

Chief Administrative Officer Khem Raj Bista stated that a three-day notice has been issued for the removal of these illegally constructed structures, which occupy public road space.

Demolition will begin on Sunday for those structures that are not voluntarily removed.

Bista emphasized that these illegal huts and buildings have narrowed the road, leading to an increased risk of accidents.

Additionally, the encroachments have caused flooding in the market area by obstructing water drainage.

The municipality previously demolished similar structures in Jhalari and nearby areas, reinforcing its commitment to keeping public spaces clear of illegal encroachments.
