KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has claimed that Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is actively working to prevent the UML from coming to power.

Addressing a party secretariat meeting at the party office in Chyasal on Wednesday, Oli stated that despite the Dahal-led government being in the minority, efforts are being made to block UML from gaining power by not resigning.

Oli attributed the current situation to Prime Minister Dahal’s double-dealing and actions aimed at weakening the UML.

He mentioned issues like corruption, instability, and other self-serving activities contributing to this scenario.

The UML Chair also dismissed rumors about the formation of a commission to amend the constitution, saying that there is an agreement with the Nepali Congress (NC) to make necessary amendments to keep the constitution dynamic.

He emphasized that ministries would be distributed equally between NC and UML, and other parties would also be included in the government based on their standing.

Oli asserted that the new government would focus on economic development and solving other national issues.

Deserting the coalition formed under Maoist Center Chair Prachanda in a few months, UML has tied up the bond with NC, the largest party in the parliament to ascent to power.
